Senator Brandt served in the United State Air Force for 7 years. He served as Vice President of the Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education. He has sponsored 16 pieces of legislation that have become law. As a member of the Senate Education Committee, Craig continues to advocate for the students to be the focus of our education systems and not the adults. His PE credit law restored local control to school boards.
In the Senate Public Affairs Committee, Craig championed Constitutional rights and limited government intrusion. He has carried several DUI reform bills, including one that consolidated DWI laws and redirected alcohol taxes to mandatory treatment programs.
He was elected to the State Senate in 2012.
